How we research, write and correct our guides
Owners make real decisions with what we publish. These are the rules we hold our guides and articles to.
Last updated October 23, 2026
Sources
We build our guides from primary and authoritative sources wherever possible: SBA.gov and SBA program rules, the Federal Reserve (for the prime rate), the IRS, and published lender and program disclosures. Rate and cost figures are presented as typical ranges, and we date them (for example, “Last verified June 2026”) so you can see how current they are.
Independence
- Our articles and guides contain no affiliate links or paid placements.
- We explain the downsides of every product we cover, including ones that can be costly, like merchant cash advances.
- Our compensation is explained on How we make money. It doesn’t determine which funding types we recommend in an article.
How articles are produced
Articles are written and reviewed by the Business Cash Guide editorial team. Some drafts are prepared with the help of AI writing tools. Every article is reviewed and its figures are checked against sources before it’s published. Articles are bylined to the editorial team rather than to an individual.
Images
Photographs on this site are AI-generated illustrations of representative small businesses. They don’t depict our customers or real people, and we never caption them as such.
What we won’t publish
- Testimonials, reviews or ratings we can’t verify.
- Guarantees about approval, speed or rates. Those decisions belong to the funding provider.
- Invented statistics, such as amounts funded or approval rates.
Updates and corrections
We review our guides when rates or program rules change, and we update dated figures. If you spot an error, email hello@businesscashguide.com with the page and what’s wrong. We’ll check it and correct the page if we got it wrong.
