What we do

Most owners don’t need another sales pitch. They need to know which kind of funding fits the job, what it typically costs, and what to watch out for. We publish 12 free guide chapters, 59 in-depth articles and four free tools (a payment calculator, a funding quiz, a document checklist and a side-by-side comparison) so you can work that out before you talk to anyone.

When you’re ready, you can send one short request through our funding form. It goes to 1West, our funding marketplace partner, whose network reviews it for options you may qualify for. A specialist then follows up to walk you through anything that’s available. You decide what, if anything, to do next.

What we are not

  • We’re not a lender. We don’t make credit decisions, set rates or fund loans.
  • We’re not a bidding pool. Your request goes to one partner, not to a list of brokers, and we don’t sell your personal information.
  • We’re not financial advisers. Our content is general information, not financial, legal or tax advice. For decisions specific to your business, talk with a qualified professional.

How we’re paid

Using the site and requesting options is free. If you request options and a deal funds, our partner may compensate us. We explain this in full on our How we make money page.

How we write

Our guides are researched from primary sources like SBA.gov and the Federal Reserve, and we date the figures we publish. Read our editorial standards for how articles are researched, reviewed, updated and corrected.
